Acrylartist
Acrylartist
is the business name for Marianne de Ridder's paintings. She is self-taught. Her previous work included design work for well-known Dutch artists, among others. In addition to these projects, she painted on commission. Her paintings were realistic and were purchased by several galleries. Music is also a great passion of hers. She composes and plays her own music.
In 2003, she began focusing on abstract painting. After experimenting for a while, a unique style of colorful abstract paintings emerged. Together with her sister, she founded a company called Acrylartist.
Her sister was involved in sales and organizing exhibitions, among other things. After her sister's unexpected death, Marianne abruptly stopped working with Acrylartist, took the website offline, and devoted herself solely to making music.
At the end of 2022, Marianne learned about The Global White Lion Protection Trust through her daughter and son-in-law, who had traveled to South Africa to visit Linda Tucker, the founder of The Global White Lion Protection Trust. https://www.whitelions.org
In 2025, Marianne came into contact with Linda Tucker, who was giving a lecture in Amsterdam about her work and the goals of The Global White Lion Protection Trust. She is totally dependent on donations. Marianne was so moved by Linda's good work and the importance of preserving the white lions that she decided to donate all the paintings she still had in her possession to the white lions. By achieving this, she set up this website in the hope that many paintings will be sold for this good cause. The proceeds from the sale of the paintings will go entirely to the white lions.
